Install

Note: Before installing your Bates Program check to make sure you have the newest printer driver available for your printer. This is a must if you have a new computer and you have not replaced your printer.

Make sure you have admin permissions to install software. Close all other programs including Virus Protection during the installation and registration.

Select Download Demo Programs from the Demo page and click on it.

Select the Bates Professional Demo from the programs and click on it.

Select Open/Run to install from a temporary file or.

Select Save to save the program install to a folder on your computer. This should default to My Desktop, My Documents or My Downloads, but you may save it in any folder you like. Just remember where you put it.

From where you saved the Bates Install Program double click to start the installation. If you agree with the install prompts, press Enter or Click on the proper button with your mouse. If you want to change any of the prompts, make the necessary changes on the Install screen.

Note: On the Components Page of the install program notice the drop-down menu. You have three choices: Full Installation, Application Only, and PDF Driver Only. If you are installing Bates Professional for the first time on a server or workstation, check to make sure you are doing the Full Installation. If installed on the server, the program will attempt to install the PDF Driver on the workstations which are licensed users. If you see the "PDF Driver Not Installed" warning when the program is started, click OK, and the Bates Professional program will install the print driver, PDF-xchange 4.0. You may find it is easiest to just install the demo on the workstation which will install the print driver and make the shortcut for you. You can then redirect the Shortcut to the Bates folder on your server.

To run Bates Program from Start - select Programs – select Bates – Bates Program click on it. During installation you have the option to have the install programs generate a shortcut for your desktop.

If you are installing from a CD it should start automatically, the CD contains all of our programs. Make sure you select the program you purchased and click Install.

Bates Program Network Installation – The program may be installed on the server or workstations. It is installed in the same manner as above on the server. Install and complete registration on server before adding workstation shortcuts. Refer to the Bates Installation Shortcuts for workstation Shortcut setup examples and more information.
The default number of users is 5. If you have purchased additional seat licenses add the amount purchased to the default. Change the number to the new total. To access the "Registration Screen" after the first Registration of the program type *** (shift 8 for *) into the user initials entry box and press enter. Keep your Activation Key in a safe place for future use.
